The name
Civil dawn is approaching.
In nautical twilight, the horizon becomes visible. We can begin to navigate, even before the world is fully illuminated. This phase ends at civil dawn: the sun remains below the horizon, but there is enough light to start our day. That is where we find ourselves with digital minds—in the twilight, with a new day approaching fast. Civil Dawn Institute takes its name from the threshold ahead. Our work begins now: finding our bearings together, so we are ready to meet it.
